”… Man is not free unless government is limited.” – Ronald Reagan
This was your idea. These are your solutions. This is your PAC.
During the 2010 campaign season, 70% of Alaska’s voters from both sides of the aisle agreed on one premise: governments have grown beyond what their constitutions and charters authorized.
In fact, you postulated that most of our inter-party disagreements would diminish, to various extents, if governments were reduced to their enumerated powers. Furthermore, surveys revealed that the majority of voters felt that most of society’s ills could be traced back to unwarranted government intervention.
You believe good government plays a vital role in protecting your freedom and inalienable rights. But excessive government is counterproductive to an individual’s pursuit of happiness and seeks to ascertain privileges, instead.
You also assert that you are more qualified to manage your personal affairs, such as finances and medical matters, than anyone in the government is qualified. On the other hand, the other 30% firmly believe that government is best qualified to manage your life.
By the time the 2010 general election rolled around, you were willing to coalesce on the basis of a limited government, which is the one common denominator most of us share. You asked for an organization based on that one principle to unite us.
You were also tired of the rhetoric. You said that it’s time to roll up your sleeves and start working on solutions.
Welcome to your idea.
Alaskans for Limited Government (ALG) is a non-partisan political action committee. Our focus is to level the political playing field through both education and restoration of government to its enumerated powers through legislative proposals.
ALG is not about Democrats vs. Republicans, left vs. right, or conservative vs. progressive. Rather, it’s about which candidate truly shares your values regarding transparency, restoring honor and integrity to the office, and minimizing government’s intrusion into your wallet and private life.
We aspire to restore civility to campaigns and we refuse to endorse or support any candidate who cannot stand on their own merit and value. Voters are mature adults who should not have to filter through the mud to reveal the heart of the issues at stake.
We assert that there should be only one special interest group: you.
Lastly, we’ll propose legislation that restores government to its enumerated powers.
It’s within this site you’ll be able to enjoy civilized social intercourse on the issues, without emotion and without reference to specific political parties.
Welcome to your idea. Welcome to Alaskans for Limited Government. Please join us.
